Here’s to our 18th Year of Dancing for Joy!

Welcome to the 2025-2026 season!

Westover Ballet turns 18 this year! Can you believe it? GENERATIONS of dancers, beautiful inside and out, have danced their way from Storyland Ballet to Senior Year. They have made our community what it is today, and they have blessed us richly with their presence in it! So, here’s to this year’s graduating class and to the younger ones following in their footsteps, and here’s to another year of DANCING FOR JOY!

Deck the [studio] with boughs of holly!

Senior dancers are invited to our annual Christmas season kick-off. We’ll fellowship, enjoy snacks, and fill the studio with Christmas cheer! Bring a snack to share.

Christiansburg Christmas Parade

Friday, December 12 (meet at 5:30pm at the studio to get ready, parade starts at 7pm)

Everyone is invited to join our Nutcracker 1918 parade float!

Dancers younger than 8 must have a parent walking with them.

Join us as we dive into the wonderfully whimsical world of Brambley Hedge! Space is very limited, so reserve your spot soon.

Drop-In Technique Classes

Drop-In Classes for Intermediate/Advanced dancers. Each class will feature an hour of floor barre/body work, followed by an hour of ballet class.

Pre-registration is required. Please visit your online portal and click “registration” to see available class times.

Private Lessons

Summer is the perfect time to work on personal goals, and improve your technique through 1 on 1 coaching!

Private Lessons are available select Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons in June and early July.

Private Lesson registration opens at 9am on May 23rd. Space is limited, so reserve your spot early! Visit the online portal and click “Privates” to see the schedule and reserve a lesson time.

How do I register?

Joy Dancers – Simply drop by the front desk during office hours (Mondays 3:00-6:00, Tuesdays 3:00-5:00, Wednesdays 3:30-5:00), Thursdays 4:30-7:00).

Junior/Senior Dancers – Schedule a meeting with Miss Katherine to discuss your best class options. Meetings can be booked through the online portal. Click “Privates” to see available times, and then select “Registration Meeting.”

August 4-6 – Refresh Teacher’s Retreat

August 7-9 – Movement Arts Workshop (all ages – families are welcome!)

Ongoing throughout the summer:

Private Lessons – available on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons beginning June 10th.

Senior Technique Class – available on select Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11:30am. All classes are drop-in (pre-registration is required).

Announcing: Alice in Wonderland!

I’m so excited to announce our 2025 spring production, Alice in Wonderland! This is an old favorite from our repertoire, first performed in 2019.

PARTICIPATION:

All students are invited to perform. Please let us know by Sunday, April 6th if your dancer will NOT be able to participate.

Valentine’s Dinner Theater 2025!

Our annual Valentine’s Dinner Theater and Choreography Festival is coming up, and this year it falls on February 14th – Valentine’s Day!

ACT ONE – Student Choreographed Works

ACT TWO – Class Concert (demonstration ballet class to showcase what we’ve learned so far this year)

AND. . . after the show, we have a big announcement – come find out what show we’ll be performing for our Spring Production on May 17th!

PARTICIPATION:

All students will learn choreography for Class Concert during regular class time. Please let us know by Friday, January 24th if your dancer will NOT be able to participate.

Dancers may also apply to present a student-choreographed work. Applications are due January 26th.

Tickets will only be on sale January 24-February 6. Space is limited, so get yours early! Tickets may be purchased in-studio or online (purchase in-studio to avoid processing fees).

It’s Almost Nutcracker Season!

Our beloved annual tradition returns again this year, with an exciting new development. Since we filled up two shows last year, this year we are performing three shows!!! Dancers age 5 and up are invited to audition!

Worship Dance Collective

Sunday, September 29, 4:30pm

We’re so excited to be partnering with several area churches to launch the NRV Worship Dance Collective. The first gathering will be at Dwelling Place Christian Fellowship in Christiansburg.

Come join us for a time to worship together through dance. You don’t need dance experience, just a heart to worship through movement!
